Sustainable living environments and innovations
The study on sustainable living environments and innovations examines energy innovations, the sustainable life cycle of residential areas, citizens’ opportunities for involvement in decision-making, and the user friendliness of product development by companies.Research methods are used to contribute to developing a sustainable living environment and technology. A user-oriented approach and the interaction and involvement of various actors within society steer the group’s research.
Creation of a sustainable living environment is supported by combining information on the connections between consumption and production. The research entity will increase knowledge on changes in service structures and the impacts of these changes on consumers’ everyday lives, while contributing to the development of user and customer oriented service models. Innovations and services are promoted within a national innovation policy: research know-how will be utilised in the user-oriented development of products and services on the one hand, and in developing the structural preconditions of consumption and their public steering on the other.
